West Papua students’ program for researchers

The Papuan Young Scientist Program (IMP), initiated by the Econusa Foundation and the Balitbangda of West Papua Province, is one of the programs that encourage the involvement of students and female students who have the ability and interest to become researchers to be able to carry out research that can contribute to realizing sustainable development.

The regional secretary of West Papua province, Nataniel D. Mandacan, said that the participation of young people through the IMP program is expected to produce research that can later be used as the basis for policy formulation, policy advocacy, and resource innovation. Those can accelerate the achievement of the commitments of Papua and West Papua Provinces as the Sustainable Development provinces.

According to him, on the way to sustainable development, there are many fundamental challenges to be faced, so that the consistent involvement of all parties in the form of cooperation, collaboration, and coordination needed.
