Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of State Treasury, the Ministry of Finance of West Papua Province, Hari Utomo, said the Ministry of Finance has disbursed a budget of IDR 19.5 billion to pay for incentives for health workers involved in accelerating the handling of Covid-19 in West Papua Province. “The budget is for the payment of incentives for health workers in all regions in West Papua by 2020. For West Papua, 366 health workers have been proposed,” said Hari, September 9, 2020.

Data mentioned, the need for health workers are around 366 workers from hospitals, health centers, and COVID-19 quarantine facilities in all districts and cities. Meanwhile, the Head of the West Papua Provincial Health Office, Otto Parorongan, said that the central transfer for incentives for health workers in West Papua involving in the prevention and handling of Covid-19 would be forwarded to the respective district or city offices that report their data of health workers.

Separately, Jayapura Regent Mathius Awoitauw, on 9 September 2020, said that the government promised the appointment of 20 thousand honorary candidates to become candidates for civil servants or CPNS in Papua. A total of 3,000 formations, of which are allocated for honorarium in the Provincial Government or Pemprov Papua.

“Of the 20 thousand quota, 3,000 formations were allocated to the Papua Provincial Government, and the rest were distributed to regencies and cities (in Papua). We still have to look back on the needs (in the Jayapura Regency Government), “said Mathius again.

The plan to appoint 20 thousand honorary candidates to become CPNS in Papua is agreed upon at a meeting of the Minister of the Ministry of Politics, Tjahjo Kumolo, and Deputy Governor of Papua Klemen Tinal. The meeting in Jakarta was also attended by regents from Papua.
