The death of a KNPB separatist Rafinus Tigau

An exchange fire broke out in in Jalae Village, Sugapa Intan Jaya District, between the military and TNPB, separatist group on 26 October 2020. It caused Rafinus, a church catechist and an separatist activist, died.

This death was admitted by Pastor Marten Kuayo, Diocesan Administrator for Timika Diocese.

The Head of Information for Kogabwilhan III, Col. Czi IGN Suriastawa and the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Drs. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, S.H said that Rafinus was a member of the KNPB who had blocked TGPF last Sunday.

Col Suriastawa admitted that in this operation a child named Megianus, 6 years old of age, suffered a wound on the left side of the waist due to recoset. He was then evacuated to Bilogai Airport, Intan Jaya, to be taken to Timika for further medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Sebby Sambom, Spokesperson for the TPNPB, said only Pastor Zanambani was shot, not Rafinus Tigau.
